Gemstone Mala Necklaces
Malas are a used in meditation as well as a tool for Yogis while practicing. They're often called prayer beads and serve a number of functions. That
function is purely at the discretion of the practitioner but can include meditation, bringing about a sense of calmness or they can
be more for intention as they can help one focus and obtain clarity. Of course, one doesn't need to be a yogi to use them. They
are for anyone who seeks a calmer mind, body and spirit. Traditionally, malas have 108 beads. The number 108
is spiritually significant for many reasons. Some claim that during deep meditation, practitioners take only 108 breaths while others
believe that the numbers 1, 0 and 8 represent God, emptiness and infinity, respectively. Still others suggest it refers to the number
of paths to God or Spiritual Englightenment. There are many more. Whatever significance they have for you, the beauty and elegance of
these strands is undeniable.
We offer malas in the traditional length of 108 beads but also in smaller sizes as a bracelet with 27 beads. Our bracelets are available
in the Mala Bracelet Design Center.
To see these beautiful strands in person, come see us at Artspace in downtown Salt Lake City as well as the farmer's markets during the market
season. See our Contact Me page for our schedule.
Our selection of mala bracelets is available in the Create Your Own Mala Bracelet page.
